Day 5 - O, Canada!

Where's Frankie?
Day 5 was a busy one. We started with breakfast at the Galley then traveled to the Deer Ranch where we had a quick picture with the huge leaping deer. There wasn't much interested in $5 pp to feed the deer so it was back into the van for the next stop - Mystery Spot.
It's all gravity and illusion, folks!

Nikki climbed to the rafters.

We also had to do the zip lining so we suited up. (Notice that I'm behind the camera since the helmets made us look soooo fine!) I will note here also that I got stung by something on my elbow and shoulder on the platform and my elbow still hurts 18 hours later!

Here comes Nikki

I told the guy that the next person down the line was 6'5"/250 lbs so he could be prepared to catch Mark. (No, Mark doesn't weigh that much - just added some so the guy was ready.)

After a brief scenic stop, we went down the next line. I did take video of the second (faster) run down, but it would take a few days to get all of them loaded here.

Since Lisa threw out Lacy, from the Galley's, name; they gave us a good deal and threw in a forest maze for free. The kids were going to race to the start and Abby found the only mud puddle in the state with her white shoe.

Off to see the black bears. Not a lot to say here other than we saw, we took pictures, then headed to see Castle Rock and Paul Bunyan and Babe, the blue Ox.

Oswald's Bear Ranch - a refuge for rescued bears.

Cruised on to the Soo Locks in Sault St Marie (a city that is on both sides of the international line). Our timing was perfect to allow for a bathroom break and to check out the visitor's center before two ships came into the locks.
Frankie with an unknown child at the Soo Locks. (Her mom knew his cousin, Flat Stanley and was okay with the pic)
Kids checking out the locks. Isn't the togetherness awesome!

Next stop - Antlers Restaurant. This place was definitely an experience. You need to read the history of the place because it alone is a hoot! www.sooantlers.com

Awww - who did this?

And, here's where we start singing O, Canada!

When we got to the border, we handed over our passports (guy didn't even look at them), drove one block, then made a right turn from the left lane. What can I say - tourists! Our day ended with a five-hour drive to Sudbury, Ontario and a midnight hotel check in. Everyone in our van kept saying - look, they have a (fill in the blank) like we [in the U.S.] do! Heck, they even have doors on their houses like us!

As I'm writing this, it's the beginning of Day 6 and everyone is rolling out of bed for our trip to Biebs-town...I mean Stratford (sorry, Molly!)

Sorry if there are mistakes in here. Running out of time.
Lisa - let me know any corrections! : )

  2. No, he's a lot less. Just told the guy that because he's still a big guy traveling towards this person at a pretty good speed.
