So, I'm up to dinner now...
We stumbled upon the Inn Between restaurant in Indian River, MI which is located between Lakes Burt and Mullet. What a great find...well, except for the river smell.
Can you find Frankie? |
Abby's shot of our view. |
Some dude provided our entertainment by jumping from the center of this bridge while we were there.
The food was excellent - fresh caught walleye and perch. Luke may not agree anymore, but it's supposedly the #1 rated pizza in northern Michigan.
Two specific notes about Frankie - 1) everyone is now asking me if I have Frankie for each picture we take. (I forget him in the van a lot), and 2) I think we're starting a "Where's Frankie" in our pics sort of like a "Where's Waldo" game.
OK - one more official stop - The George Washington Metal Head which is located in Onaway, MI and sits in the middle of about five acres. Molly thought it was really freaky just sitting out there. But, we Goulding/McCoskeys are a hearty bunch and took off for an up close view. Of course, there was a mosquito infestation of us and our vehicles which had us doing a mosquito dance and hunt and kill expedition.
It was then off to our hotel in St Ignace which brings me full-circle to my original opening of the sunrise. While the hotel isn't fantastic, the view and location are great. We did drive over the Mackinaw Bridge last night which is five miles long, but of course missed the view because it was dark. We're doing the double-back today so we experience it during the day and visit the Mackinaw Bridge museum.
Looking forward to another great day and wishing all of you the same.
(Sister Julie - do I get the A+ for journaling? )
